It was in September last year, Thailand trip with my family is still fresh in my mind. The trip that was hatched so unexpectedly left us with on-arrival visa only. No wonder many Indians opt for this system. However I was alerted by my niece who visited Thailand one or two months back that on-arrival is not a quickie job, we have to stand in queue for hours. As we landed in Suvarnabhumi international airport her warning came alive.

In fact when we were in the sky all the passengers were provided some forms to be filled in for visa, although we didn't pay much heed to those, neither we had gone through it properly. So, following the co-passengers we were led to a counter where forms were being distributed, in addition to the one we had in the flight.
We got down to filling in the forms. By the time we finished our job our co-passengers vanished from the scene. So on enquiry we were shown the direction to proceed for the visa counter. But I was appalled at seeing the queue, all the four lines had similar crowd. Suddenly I noticed a different counter with one or two persons. Somehow with broken English managed figure out that paying some extra baht (Thai currency) one can avail of that counter with sparse applicants.
I rushed to this new discovery, paid 200 baht extra for each and in few minutes we had our visa for 15 days tourist visa. Normal visa fee is 2000 baht per person. er course one have other pre-requisites like return flight tickets, ten thousand bahts or equal amount of US dollar, proof of accommodation, two passport size colour photographs etc.
